Yep, it's been a while.  Yes, I'm still alive and kicking.  It's been a busy year.

I left the insurance job this past Febuary, and worked in real estate for 6 months.  Had a girlfirend in Austin for 3 months...lots of fun there.  Right after we broke up, I got a job offer in Austin.  Now, I work for a sign company in the Austin area, and I'm in another band:  Kent Mayhew & Dream.

    That's the short version.

    peace.

    Well,

it's been a little bit longer than a few months, but shorter that forever since I've been here. I know my account is now "free" again. I'm gonna have to pay it up. Everything is pretty much the same. Will be back l8r 2night to give a complete update.

i'm still here...just busy as hell

Been so busy with the regular day to day, that it's been forever since i just popped in to say hi. So, gang, if you stop by the LJ drop me a line and let me know: how you're doin, what you're doin' and who you're doin' (LOL).

and remember...You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, But you can't roll up your friends into little balls and flick them on other people.

And it's time again for what appears to be my "get-around-to-it-when-I-can" check in.

    Work:
why bother with the details, it keeps me busy. Trying to transfer within departments to IT. Looks like I've got to stick it out till the first of the year.

    Music:
Still busy with both bands: Church & The Glorious Dregs. Both are hella fun.

    Girl:
No girl right now. Too busy with work and the music. But that doesn't mean that I couldn't make the time for one. i just don't have the patience for the whole "bar scene" though. I'll just stick to what I'm doing for now.

    Graphics:
Not doing any at the moment. Recently got computer back from shop, but I haven't had the time to put it together.

    That's about all for now.

Been busy as hell over here so here's the "quick version":

Band: I've played 3 gigs now with the Glorious Dregs, what a great bunch of guys, really. My first show was 9/23 (my b-day) at the lighthouse coffe house. Personally, I think the show was good but I stunk. (I'm my own worst critic). We played in Seguin last Sunday for a youth fundraiser. Short show, we we're told to turn down te volume, but they want us back in May. We just got back from a road trip to Lindale, TX where we played Rockwells Coffee Brewery. Great show, good turn out. Lots of energy. It was defiantely my best show yet.

Work: Is still here and is still a pain. I'm still trying to transfer departments to I.T. If anyone here's of an entry level I.T position w/in there company let me know.

Design: The progress on the design for "verticallskull.com" is halted for now. I've got a comp for the fontpage done, but no idea what my client (dad) wants as text with the design. So I've got some "lorum Ipsum" in there for the time being.

Vacation: I just got back from a road trip, and I've got to get ready to leave for my Vacation this Thursday. I'll be in Key West , assuming hurricane Wilma dosen't screw things up, with a few thousand Parrotheads. So, I've got to get the Jimmy Buffet music ready, restring my accoustic for some late nights pool side, and grab as many Hawian Shirts as I can. ROAD TRIP!!!!! :)

I'm finally diving back into real web design. Ever since I received my degree for graphic design (dec '99), I've been out of the field and out of practice. Hell, the only programs I use with any frequency anymore are old and dusty versions of Photoshop, Illustrator and MS Frontpage. Well that's all changing....

Macromedia Studio 8 arrived yesterday in all of it's glory! So, I can finally rebuild & redesign the SAPHC website with Dreamweaver, Flash & Fireworks, and ditch the old MS Frontpage design

I'm almost embarrased to say that I've used Frontpage to manage the club website for the last few years, but at the time it seemed like a good idea. So, in the comming weeks look for some changes here: www.saphc.com

Due to some recent technical issues (hard drive crash) and prepping for an audition, I've been out of the loop for the last few weeks.

    1. The hard drive is fixed and my computer is up and running again. Emergency repair procedure 32beta: Remove hard drive from computer case and tap it to free platter arm.

    2. I passed the audition. I'm now the bass player for a local band called "Glorious Dregs". My first gig with them will be Friday 9/23, @ the "Lighthouse," in San Antonio.

    3. Work is still keeping me WAY busy.

    4. I'm in the planning stages for a web site design for my Dad and our buddy, Monte. It'll be a full website dedicated to our parrothead mascot [info]verticalskull

    5. How's the coffee today?

So I was surfing around a found this on [info]ludakiss lj. It was too good to pass up. So here are a couple. The generator would let me enter "digitalgargoyle" cause it was to long. Bummer.

    Seriously though....

I received a call from our drummer at church, Johnny C, today. The other band that he's in just lost their NEW bass player. So, I've been invited to audition Sep 6th. Now Johnny has only been with this band for a few months (6 at the most). A few weeks back Johnny told me about the bass auditions, but I could never make my schedule work to even show up. Which leads us back to the original statement...of course I'll audition.

Now...I haven't seen these guys play live, nor have I heard any of their music. But I don't think that Johnny would vouch for me if he didn't think I could cut it. I'll be pickup some cd's from him Friday so I can start practicing.

    Wish me luck.

Random side note: What is there to do in OH? I've got a couple of friends there now and I'd like to visit.
